Most Addicts Fail In Staying Sober After Rehab

By Ned Sanchez

Addiction to drugs and alcohol is on the rise. Many addicts that go through sobriety courses say that it's hard to stay sober for life. Most rehabs see their clients once every few years for relapses. It is estimated that only 15% of people that go to rehab stay sober for life. This means that 85% of people with addictions cannot stay off of them for life. This is a problem that is happening all across America today. Many companies are trying to find out how they can keep their clients sober for life. It is interesting how many people choose sobriety over a period of time because of their faith.

If you know someone that struggles from an addiction, it can be hard to watch them throwing their life away. People are often wondering what they can do to help someone that cannot come off drugs. For starters, you need to stage an intervention. It is important to call a professional interventionist. Tell them the problems that you are having and get a plan set in motion. An intervention can cost around $7,000, but it saves the life of someone that cannot help themselves.

For many celebrities, rehab is a scapegoat. If their drug abuse has caused them to injure someone through their drug abuse, they often will enter into a rehab program for 30 days. This helps them to have less criminal charges brought against them. The courts today would rather send someone to rehab than to jail. Rehab is expensive and usually not paid by the addict. Inpatient care often costs $1,000.00 per day. Most people that go to rehab have good enough insurance to have their treatment paid. Many insurance companies do not have strict limitations on how many times you can go into a program.

If your heart is not into getting sober, you cannot possibly stay drug free for life. You have to dig deep into your heart and ask yourself what is most important. If an addict doesn't really want to get sober, they will not be successful in sobriety. An addict must see a reason why sobriety is better and why addiction will only lead you to your grave. Many addicts have low faith in God and often blame the universe for their problems. One of the lessons that an addict learns in rehab is to take responsibility for yourself and stop blaming others for your life's problems.

Treatment programs often teach people life skills. It teaches people not to worry so much about their future. Many addicts say that treatment becomes easier once they have thought about their addiction long enough. Everyone seems to be happy with programs that keep people off drugs and alcohol. In the long run, you can be drug and alcohol free. It is all just a matter of time. As a person learns about their addiction, they begin to see many reasons as to why their life can change. Change often happens when a person chooses sobriety over feeling forced into a treatment program.
