Find The Best Dark Spot Correcting Cream

By Marie Patterson

In time, different skin irregularities may appear. Hormone related discoloration is quite common issue, as well as different age spots. Finding a good dark spot correcting cream is not so easy as it maybe looks, because there are so many products out there, and there are also so many things you should be concerned about when choosing the appropriate product safe to apply onto your face.

There might be different active ingredients in such creams. Most of them are more or less effective, but some can cause more harm than benefit. In most countries, these dangerous ingredients are forbidden, but today, when everybody buys online, it's hard to tell what can you find there. And it might be quite risky to use some of these products, especially on your face.

Lighteners, bleachers and dark spot removers can contain several active ingredients. Some can be harmless, and some can be really dangerous. If you find mercury, you should not use this product, by all means. Mercury is highly toxic and can cause serious health problem, that include kidney failure and similar problems. Mercury is especially dangerous for pregnant women and their babies.

Steroids can also be found in similar creams, although they are also forbidden for such use. They can be absorbed through the skin and cause different health issues. Besides, they aren't really good for your skin. They cause thinning, acne, different infections and other problems. And another thing. If you use some questionable product on one really small area, maybe it won't be so dangerous. When you use it on larger areas, the consequences might be more serious.

Bleachers and lighteners sometimes contain hydroquinone. This substance isn't dangerous in very small percentages, but might be in larger ones. It should be contained in amounts smaller than 2 percent, generally. If the percentage is larger, or even not listed, make sure to ask your pharmacist, dermatologist or physician before choosing or using this particular product.

Many products are based on natural ingredients. If you find something called retinoic acid on your product's label, it's actually a substance coming from vitamin A, and this product can be generally safely used, and it could be highly effective. Kojic acid comes from fungus, and has similar qualities, as well as the substance called arbutin, which can be found in numerous plants.

Although some chemicals might be quite effective, they should not be used unless proved to be harmless. That's why you should consult your physician or your dermatologist about using different cosmetic products made for skin lightening and similar purposes. Natural ingredients are always much better option, in cosmetics and in your kitchen.

Sensitive skin requires special attention. Aggressive cosmetic products may cause severe allergic reactions there, and it is highly recommended to consult the doctor or some other professional before choosing the product for removing dark spots. Even if you know someone who uses this product, you should still consult your dermatologist first, just in case. Sensitive skin might react differently and it's better to be safe than sorry.
